What is Tadbeer?
Tadbeer service centers were introduced by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) for handling all domestic and household workers in the UAE.
The term had beer refers to the process of planning and arranging a cost-effective solution. Tadbeer is a government service in the UAE that offers a highly centralized and transparent system for hiring household and domestic workers in the UAE. It promotes and encourages a fair and ethical hiring process based on skills and experience. They help with the recruitment and selection of potential candidates and also safeguard the interests of domestic workers in the country.
What are the rules to sponsor a maid visa?
If you wish to sponsor a maid in the UAE, then the following points will be helpful-
-Firstly, it is important to familiarise yourself with all the rules regarding the process to sponsor a maid. As the sponsor, you will be responsible for their remuneration and other benefits. So, it is important to be aware of the laws and rules on how to bring a maid/ nanny to the UAE.
-If you wish to sponsor a maid visa, the sponsor must have a salary of not less than AED 6000 per month or AED 5000 per month plus accommodation. Whether you want someone to look after your children full time or just a housemaid to help around the house, the jobs are generally categorized as domestic help. It is governed by UAE Domestic Labour Law.
-Maid Visa is usually issued by the head of the family i.e., the male, so bachelors are not allowed to sponsor a maid visa.
-Maids hired must be over the age of eighteen and should be sponsored from India, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka. Please note, each country has its own rules regarding minimum age and wage.
-Here is the list of minimum wages for maids in Dubai. Sponsors can pay more if they wish to: India – AED 1,100; Bangladesh – AED 750; Indonesia – AED 800; Sri Lanka – AED 825 and Philippines – AED 1,400 (older than 30, less than 60).
-When hiring a maid, the sponsor has to provide some other stipulated benefits such as Accommodation, medical insurance, a round trip ticket home every two years, thirty days of paid vacation and medical leave per year, twelve hours of rest per day including eight hours consecutive rest, decent meals, one day of paid rest per week, payment of wages, according to a standard contract.
-You can hire an external agency or complete the process on your own. The tadbeer centers have different packages available that are specific to your needs. These services can range from AED 3,000 to AED 6,000 but again depends on what exactly you are looking for. To avoid any extra cost, you have the option to re-apply for a maid residence visa in the UAE once the agency brings them to the country on a tourist visa.
What are the documents required?
Here is a list of documents that are required to sponsor a maid in UAE-
-Visa application form a recognized typing center
-Passport and visa copies of the maid and sponsor
-Passport photos of maid and sponsor
-Health insurance card copy of the sponsor
-Labour contract copy of the sponsor
-Sponsor’s salary certificate
-Bank statements (three months) of sponsor
-Tenancy contract of the sponsor
-Medical fitness certificate of the maid from the home country
-If the maid is from the same country, then an affidavit from the embassy of non-relationship is required
Please note: The sponsor will have to submit the above documents to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA). The requirements may differ for UAE citizens in the private and government sector.
How to apply?
Here are a few simple steps to issue a maid visa-
-Apply for an entry permit
-Once they enter the UAE, they will need to produce a medical fitness report and proceed to register for Emirates ID.
-Visa stamping will be done in the Maid’s passport
-Next, a domestic worker card for the sponsor and an Emirates ID for the maid has to be issued.
Cost for a maid visa-
When you submit all the documents in the GDRFA, you will need to pay a fee of approximately AED 5,200 plus a refundable deposit of AED 2,000 (returned once the maid leaves the country). If you request urgent service, then an additional fee of AED 100 is also required. Once the maid enters UAE, the cost for medical tests is approximately AED 325-520 (depending on if it is urgent or not). You can register for Emirates ID here itself.
